Renewing the work permit of your helper/ FDW here in Singapore is very easy. I always love how the Singapore government is very efficient with their processing. 1. You will receive the renewal letter from MOM at least 5 weeks before the Work Permit expires. It will give you instructions on what are the steps you need to take 2. Call NTUC +6788 1111 and inform them that you need to renew your helpers' work permit. Make sure you have the renewal letter from MOM with you as the NTUC agent will verify the info which is found in the letter. Renew the personal accident and medical insurance as well as security bond (MI3E) 26 months policy, Cost is $263.22 which is valid for 26 months. NTUC explained to me that the 2 months of the policy is only use for emergency, by right its just 24 months. NTUC will be sending the insurance details to MOM the next working day. Everything was completed in the phone, also prepare your debit/credit card for the payment 3. Arrange for medical checkup and inform clinic that it is for Work Permit renewal: - Download and Print the Medical Form (Form) and let the Helper bring it to the clinic. - The test will be for physical and 4 types of infectious disease (tuberculosis, HIV, syphilis and malaria) through blood tests as well as Chest X Ray - Total Cost is 65 SGD, local clinic. 4. Do let me know if this helps or if you have any inquiries, I will try my best to answer as much as I can. Useful link (s): www.income.com.sg/insurance/home-lifestyle-insurance/foreign-maid-insurance www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permits/work-permit-for-foreign-domestic-worker/renew-a-work-permit Starting 2016, the minimum salary for FDW working in Singapore is $550 SGD as what i have learned from the Philippine embassy when i processed the contract authentication for my helper ALTHOUGH until now the Ministry of Man Power in Singapore doesn't have a minimum salary requirements, so even if you put 300$ you will still get approval but the take away is your helper/maid cannot have vacation to the Philippines and will not be register in the Philippine embassy. , The minimum salary for maids set by the Philippine government had been US$400 for over a decade. To avoid exchange rate fluctuations, the Association of Employment Agencies (Singapore) (AEAS) had an agreement more than three years ago with the Philippine Embassy here that it would be set at $500 locally as per AEAS president K. Jayaprema. January of 2016, they increased to $550 SGD. When i made this, i still make use of my other blog entry How to apply for a Work Permit for your Helper in Singapore which I still make reference to every now and then. I am glad i made it. Process updating your maid/helper/fdw salary. 1. Go to WPONLINE and click on Log in to WP online 2. Login with your Singpass ID and Password 3. Click on I Agree 4. Scroll down and on the right side, Click on the + next to Change Worker's Information and then Click on Change Worker's salary. 5. Input your FDW WP # (not FIN#) and Click GO 6. Input the New salary amount, all blanks should be filled, tick the I confirm box and then click on Submit. then on the next Window, click OK. Hope this helps. Do let me know your thoughts.
